BECOMING A REFEREE

The Camberwell Branch of the Victorian Basketball Referees Association is conducting a referee course commencing Sunday 19 April. Both adults and teenagers welcome. It is never too late to learn the rules and is a great way to keep fit while giving back to the sport of basketball and earning some extra cash.

Theory

Sunday 19 April                       2.30pm-5.00pm (Boroondara Park Primary School stadium)

Thursday 23 April                    6.30pm-8:30pm (Balwyn High School stadium)

Thursday 30 April                    6.30pm-8.30pm (Balwyn High School stadium)

Sunday 3 May                          2.30pm-5.00pm (Boroondara Park Primary School stadium)

Thursday 7 May                       6.30pm-8.30pm (Balwyn High School stadium)

Thursday 21 May                     6.30pm-8.30pm (Balwyn High School stadium)

 

Practical

Saturdays, during EDJBA competition

Balwyn High School stadium, Buchanan Avenue, North Balwyn

Boroondara Park Primary School stadium, Almond Street, North Balwyn

 

COST:                        

$100.00 which includes: rule book, whistle, lanyard and registration fees for 2015

 

PRE-REQUISITES:     

Applicant must be a minimum age of 14 years
As numbers are limited, preference will be given to adults
Prior knowledge of basketball an advantage but not essential
You must be able to commit to all 6 theory sessions in order to pass the theory component.

 

WHAT TO BRING:     

Theory – exercise book/notebook & pen

Practical – black pants (black tracksuit pants are only allowed while training), white t‑shirt, suitable runners for on court & a water bottle.
