Camberwell Dragons are again running their development squads for season 2012/2013. This year they have a revamped boys program to add to the established girls program.

The program is an entry level program that offers boys & girls a chance to be a part of Camberwell Dragons Development Squad introducing them into Representative Basketball.

The program runs for 12 weeks during term 2 & term 3, with a one hour session each week. With optional tournaments offered as well.

Coaches Clinic with Ian Stacker

2012 Chocolate Drive

The fundraising committee has just started the 2012 chocolate drive to raise fund to put towards a new stadium at Koonung. Families are given the choice of either making a $25 donation to the club or receiving a box of chocolates to be sold. For those families wishing to make a donation in lieu of receiving a box of chocolate, please fill out the form and return to the address provided or the weekly BBQ at Koonung. The fundraising committee thanks you for you support!

Koonung Comets would like to congratulate all players who played on Saturday 21st, the start of the EDJBA 2012 winter season. We would also like to welcome many new players to the club.

A particularly warm welcome to the many younger age players who are not only new to club but also new to basketball, well done to all new players who successfully competed in their first game of basketball.

Uniforms times for Winter Season

The uniform shop will be open, at Koonung Secondary College, on the following days

- Monday April 16^th 5.30-6.30pm

- Wednesday April 18^th 5.30-6.30pm

- Thursday April 19^th 5.30-6.30pm

- Thursday April 26^th from 5.30-6.00pm.

Please note:- Rugby tops have been reduced to $50.

The Summer finals are over and now we get a few weeks off, however it won’t be long before the first round for Winter season, kicks off on Saturday 21st April.

Note that for Winter season the player game fee will increase to $6.50 per game to cover rising Stadium hire costs across the competition.

A Comet in the Southern Cross

The inaugural Southern Cross Challenge conducted by Basketball Victoria was an overwhelming success last weekend in Ballarat. Koonung was represented at the event by Lachlan Buur-Jensen in the U15 Boys.

REGISTRATION & GRADING DAY WINTER SEASON 2012

New Players Most Welcome

A combined Registration and Grading day for the coming winter season will be held from 10:30 am to 5.00 pm at Koonung Secondary College on Sunday 19th Feb 2012.

Your completed form can be lodged with the Club’s Registrar on the day.

As registration and grading is a very important process in planning for the coming winter season, the Club asks that all players register on the day and the age groups listed below attend grading. If the player cannot attend or will not be playing in the coming winter season, please contact the club via the club e-mail on koonung@hotmail.com

Note: - Members of the coaching committee will also be attending games prior to the end of the season for the purpose of grading.

All players undertaking Grading are requested to wear their Koonung singlet, bring a drink bottle AND a basketball. New players please wear a red t-shirt.

UNDER 11	12:30pm – 1:30 pm	1:30 pm – 2:30 pm
UNDER 13	2:30pm – 3:30 pm	3:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Un 15,17 & 19	Please register on the day between 11:30am - 4:00 pm

For all age groups the cut off date is 31st December 2011. So if your child was 9 at that date they will play Under 11.
